Cricket
Needs to R.E.S.P.E.C.T it's Customers

If
you live in Baltimore, DC or any
number of metropolitan cities, then
you may have noticed the barrage of
advertisements for a new wireless compnay
called Cricket. They have entered the
market in hopes of unseating Boost Mobile
[ A Sprint company ]. Boost has pioneered
the $50 Unlimited Talk, Text, Walkie
Talkie phone service. In the city of
Baltimore, Boost Mobile has the second
largest network of users. Who wouldn't
want to get all you can for a few pennies.
Like
any business, there was soon to be some
compeitiors and Cricket Wireless is
the newest one. This company has been
around for about two years but recently
have begun a huge push to take the place
of Boost Mobile. They have been advertising
Unlimited Talk and Text for $30 per
month. Who would refuse that ? Well
I do when you take a look at what they
are not telling you.
Cricket
Wireless Service is Not Available in
All Areas
If
you live in a major city then you are
able to get the service but many areas
do not have the plan. This means
that you are limited to being within
your local city to enjoy your phone.
For example, I could use the phone in
Baltimore, DC and Philly but may not
have service in between.
Unlimited
is not Unlimited
The
unlimted promise only applies to using
the phone within the strict location
limits of the service. If you do not
have the $50 or $60 service then you
will have to pay roaming charges. Yes.
The old dinosaur from the 90's cell
phone era is back with Cricket. The
more expensive plans come with 200 minutes
of Roaming. I bet you see that there
is no nationwide network here.
The
Fine Print will scare you
I
purchased a broadband card and read
the back of the reciept. Phones can
only be replaced within 30 minutes of
purchasing them and must be in like
new condition. Service plans are non-refundable.
And all non phone purchases are refundable
only if it is in the box unopened. So
if you purchase something that doesn't
work, you are Shit out of Luck !
No
Customer Service
This
is the biggest problem with the service.
There is no customer service division.
You heard me right. If you call they
will telll you that they don't have
it and refer you to the store where
you purchased but here is the clincher:
There are very few Cricket Wireless
Stores and many of the associates don't
know any technical data about the product.
Buyer
Beware
Using
Cricket Wireless is not advised at the
moment. The low price will cost you
in other areas. The representatives
in the store are amazing but until they
change their return policies, ad a customer
service department, get nationwide coverage
and ditch the roaming, you will be in
for trouble ahead. Cricket has great
promise but promices without action
are useless.
